About GHK-CU
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) coordination complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a naturally occurring copper-binding sequence whose plasma concentrations have been reported to decline with age. The copper ion is chelated by the peptide in a defined planar geometry, and this metal-peptide coordination is central to its biological activity. Researchers study GHK-Cu in models of dermal and connective-tissue remodeling, collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, angiogenesis-related signaling, and gene-expression changes associated with wound repair. Its applications also extend to copper-homeostasis research, since the complex delivers copper in a controlled manner compared with free copper salts. Quality control must address both peptide purity and stoichiometric metal content: excess free copper, incomplete complexation, or decomposition during lyophilization can change cellular responses. Shandong Shengyuan supplies GHK-Cu at 99.5% peptide purity by RP-HPLC or higher, with copper content confirmed analytically and LC-MS verification of the peptide backbone. Lyophilized product is for research use only; not for human or veterinary use.
