About KPV
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, a minimal sequence investigated for anti-inflammatory effects in cellular models while lacking the melanotropic activity of the parent hormone. Its small size makes it a practical tool for studying how short peptides modulate inflammatory signaling in intestinal epithelial cells, immune cells, and preclinical models of colitis or barrier dysfunction. Researchers also employ KPV in structure-activity studies that map which elements of alpha-MSH contribute to specific receptor-independent responses. For a tripeptide, quality control centers on coupling completeness and salt form: deletion peptides such as Lys-Pro or Pro-Val, residual trifluoroacetate, and counter-ion mismatches can skew cell-based assays and solubility behavior. Shandong Shengyuan produces KPV under controlled solid-phase conditions and releases material only after RP-HPLC purity of 99.3% or higher, LC-MS mass confirmation, and quantitative peptide-content analysis. The lyophilized product is intended for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.
